Namasuba H-mpagi Ruth Group

Ruth Mpagi is 27 years old and was once a cashier with the Ugandan development bank. She is a married mother of one and also a caring guardian to her late brother’s son. Two years back her dear husband, an architect by profession, set up a hardware shop for her in Najjanakumbi. With her hard work, she has been able to keep the business running effectively and efficiently. She earns a profit of approximately UGX 120,000 per week, which enables her to pay her rent of UGX 200,000 every month. The income from the business helps her put food on the table for her family in a shared role with the husband.

Ruth would use this loan to purchase water and oil-based Sadolin paints, locks, sandpapers, wood vanishes, and 6 mm glasses. The main challenge in her business is delayed payments by debtors but she has managed to control that by taking on a cash-on-delivery principle. She dreams of starting up a restaurant and raising a successful family.

About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
