We thank Kiva for having granted us our initial loan and having confidence in us. After our successful initial experience, we are here to request the granting of a second loan that will enable us to bolster our businesses in sewing, which includes undergarments, outfits, and hand-made products.

Despite the multiple social problems tied to the disastrous economic situation, the eco-village Keur Goumak has kept an old tradition in our field of making textiles. Even though they are affected greatly by these problems, the women still jealously guard the secrets of weaving "petits pagnes" (fine slips or lingerie in West Africa), highly prized by city dwellers and other outsiders.

Given the phenomenon of rural exodus, the women occupy a strategic position in the field of making undergarments, outfits, and artisanal goods. Thanks to the numerous "loumas" (weekly markets), these goods are sold, finding their network of outlets near the holy city of TOUBA, which attracts people in the region for every occasion. This has become common practice and very lucrative for a number of women in the region. To bolster their businesses, the members of the group always need the available stock for continuous production and to diversify their products.
