Annjane

Annjane is a member of the Alianza Village Bank; she has been working with the bank for five years now.

Annjane is 42 years old and is the single mother of two children. Annjane runs a store selling “caña” (firewater), a type of alcoholic drink. Locals mix pure alcohol with water to drink, and drink caña by itself or mixed with a little water. She rents her store, which is located on a busy street in the city of Ayacucho, and works seven days a week. She sells her products in large drums and sometimes by the liter.

Annjane has had her business for seven years; before then she worked in Chiclaya, her hometown. She moved to Ayacucho because business opportunities are better in the city. The caña she sells is purchased from old friends in Chiclaya.

Annjane is requesting a loan of 3500 soles to buy more caña from Chiclaya. Her goal for the future is to continue expanding her business.
