Edarlina Geronimo

“Competition is a spice in business. And in life, always bear in mind that you can’t be good and determined in your chosen field if you have no one to compete with.” This is the life philosophy of Edarlina Geronimo from Old San Mariano, Isabela, a village situated in the lowland near the Pinacanauan River and frequently covered with water when successive rains occur.

Edarlina, 49, is married to Vicente Geronimo Jr. and they are blessed with three children: Filimon – 30 years old, married and working as a teacher; Eugine – 29 years old, a college graduate engaged in farming, and Rachelle – 19 years old, a senior nursing student.

Edarlina operates a village store generating an average weekly income of over $20 which is used to support her family and the needed school allowance of her youngest child. Her needs for additional capital for the store and the maintenance of their farming business are the reasons she is now applying for a loan.

Her faith in God and determination to succeed has motivated her to persevere and to develop the family’s other business - raising hogs. The combined incomes of the two enterprises will give them the chance to have a better life and support their child's education.
