Amelia Ermelinda Sanizo Mamani

Amelia is 40 years old and married with two children. She is an early education teacher and lives at 221 N. Puno in the village of Juli in the Puno region of Peru. She has been a member of the Women of the 21st Century Community Bank for nearly four years. With her first loan of approximately $100 that she received from Kiva partner Manuela Ramos, she purchase wool and cloth for embroidery. Since she was 20 years old she has been in this business, and she learned to make embroideries to sell in Puno. Currently she purchase embroideries of all kinds and sells her products in Cusco. With this current loan she is requesting, which she plans to repay within four months, she will purchase more baize embroideries. Her main goal is to have a small business exporting her craftwork to foreign countries.

Amelia tiene 40 años de edad, es casada y madre de 2 hijos, también es Profesora de Educación Inicial y vive en el Jr. Puno Nº 221, distrito de Juli, Provincia de Chuchito, departamento de Puno.

Es socia por casi 4 años del Banco Comunal “Mujeres al Siglo XXI”. Con el primer préstamo de S/.300 que recibió de Manuela Ramos compró lana y bayeta para bordados. Desde los 20 años de edad empezó con este negocio, aprendió a hacer bordados para vender en Puno. Actualmente compra bordados de todo tipo y vende sus productos en el Cusco.

Con este préstamo de S/. 500, el cual será cancelado en 4 cuotas, comprará más bordados en bayeta.

Su mayor aspiración es tener una microempresa para exportar su Artesanía al extranjero.
