My name is Rehana Kosar and I have resided in Lahore, Pakistan for the past 20 years. I was educated to the 8th standard and couldn’t study further due to my father's low income. I belong to a poor family but I want to fulfill my children’s wishes. I am a mother of five children: two sons and three daughters. My elder son is in 7th standard and my younger son in 5th standard. My elder daughter is in 5th standard. The next to her is in 3rd standard and the younger to her is in 2nd standard. My children want to get a good education.

My husband is a delivery man. He delivers different items (fruits and vegetables) from one place to another. He has been in this business for the past 20 years. I belong to a decorative embroidery business. I learned this art from my mother when I left school. This work helps me a lot in having an independent life. I sell my work in cloth shops and earn a profit. I save my income to pay my children’s school and tuition fees. My husband pays the all house expenses. I have successfully repaid my two loans loan which I took from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now I am applying for a loan again to repair my husband's truck so that he is able to continue his work again actively.

I am a group leader of a few more women in my locality. Fozia Baji wants a loan to buy iron to resell. Bushra Baji wants a loan to buy seasonal fruits for her fruit selling business. Riaz Baji wants a loan to buy milk for her milk shop. Mahnaz Baji wants a loan to buy clothes for her clothes selling business. Azra Parveen Baji wants a loan to buy ingredients (lentils, cooking oil and spices) for her food business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
