They work every day of the week, and buy the shoes in Lima. Her husband also travels around to different regional fairs. Redina needs a loan of $650 to buy sneakers and children’s shoes. Update from Peru on your loan!

Entrepreneur: Redina
Location: Ayacucho, Peru

Redina is a member of the Azucenas (“White Lilies”) Village Bank. Redina is 32 years old and lives with her common-law husband and their two children. She and her husband sell shoes in the April 12th Market in the city of Ayacucho. They run two market stands, one of which they own, while the other is rented.

Redina used her loan of 2000 soles to invest in shoes and sneakers for her market stalls. Business has been going well and she has had no trouble making her loan repayments in a timely fashion. The loan has helped her a lot. For example, before the capital (and thus, flexibility) the previous FINCA loan cycles gave her, she was stuck in a rut in her business selling groceries. The loans have enabled her to change businesses and even buy a small cart from which to sell from. Now she has two market stalls and has successfully completed the business change. Redina’s favorite thing about working with FINCA is the loan itself and how easy it is for someone like herself to get one.

Below is a photo taken of Redina and her daughter last week.
