Mah Magdaline is married to Mr. Peter Tata, and they are blessed with four children, one of whom is still below the age of fifteen. Life has been difficult for her because she did not acquire a basic education. Due to this, she is unable to assist her husband in caring for the family's needs. The problem is compounded by the fact that she finds it difficult to pay the school fees and feed her children.

She was motivated to become a member of GHAPE by her friends and relatives, and she joined GHAPE in 2003. Since then she has successfully borrowed and repaid loans 4 times worth $800. The profit from these loans helped her pay her children's school fees and provide some basic needs like food for the family.

With this loan, she plans to buy piglets, five 150 liters of palm oil, and operate a restaurant business. She knows her business is going to succeed because she has acquired some basic training in finance management and how to choose a good business from GHAPE.

Death of Magdaline Entrepreneur: Mah Magdaline Location: Ndamukong, Bamenda, Nw. Province., Cameroon The journal update for Magdalene Mah #583 in center 5 Ntaghem in Nkwen, North West region in Cameroon is very sad. Magdalene died after a protracted ill ness for over two months, and she died on the 22 of May 2009. Magdalene was laid in the Bamenda regional hospital mortuary for over four days and her remains was removed and buried in her compound at “sang” village in momo division, North West region of Cameroon. On the 26th of May 2009, her wake keeping was observed. Every member of her center were present, and some contributions were made to enable them buy food and drinks. Still in the wake keeping her funeral dues of 40,000 FRS CFA was disbursed to the group member which they later on haned it to the family members. The funeral dues are gotten from the annual life insurance paid which is a sum of 1000 FRS per member. Magdalene died with an outstanding loan of 428,570 FRS CFA. According to GHAPE loan policy when a client died with an outstanding loan, it is considered as bad debt. Unfortunately, the lender will consider this outstanding as a lost. Yilom Ernest Fointama
