Born in 1955, Phebe is married and has seven children. She is proud that she and her husband were married in a traditional ceremony, to which she attributes their good luck that they were blessed with so many children. Unfortunately, her husband is dead.

With her previous loans from GHAPE, Phebe succeeded in growing and providing her community with cassava and ndjamadjama (huckleberry leaves -- a popular green vegetable). Given a loan, she plans to buy fresh manure, fertilizer, seedlings and chemicals to expand and improve her farm. She also intends to buy piglets to fatten and sell for their meat. She plans to repay the entire loan in 24 months.

Update on Phebe Lem Ngwa Entrepreneur: Phebe Lem Ngwa Location: Nkwen Market, Nw. Province, Cameroon Starting to repay her loan this week, Phebe used her loan to purchase additional pigs and fowls for her farm, and to buy and sell cola nut. Three of her pigs are expecting farrows, so considering future expenses for the additional animals, Phebe has reserved 200,000 CFA for pig feed. Like her husband, who passed away two years ago, Phebe has been a GHAPE borrower since 2003. She now holds a lot of responsibility for her family: in addition to her own seven children, Phebe also houses and supports three children from her extended family. She said that she hopes Kiva lenders continue to support people like her--widows and orphans.

Province, Cameroon Lum has faced alot of difficulties in managing her business.She lost her fowls and pigs because some of them were attack by swine fever.Thieves also visit her in her home last month and collected her 20,000frs profit from her business.
