My name is Rubina and I have lived in Lahore Pakistan for the past 25 years. My husband name is Ashiq Maish, who has owned a scrap business for the past 18 years. I have five children: three sons and two daughters. I make embroidered dresses and sell each dress for $2. I complete approximately 10 embroidered dresses per month and earn $20. I successfully repaid my four loans which I borrowed from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). I am now requesting my fifth loan to buy iron and plastic bottles for my husband’s scrap business.

I am a group leader with a few more women in my locality. Rabia baji is requesting a loan to buy leather and nails for her shoe making business. Asia baji is requesting a loan to buy seasonal fruits for her fruit selling business. Parveen baji is requesting a loan to repair their cycles for her rented cycle business. Shabana baji is requesting a loan to buy glass for her glass selling business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee each others loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible for repayment of the entire loan.
