My name is Musarat and I reside in Lahore, Pakistan. I have been living in this city for the past 14 years. I completed my education until the 8th standard and couldn’t study further because of my father’s low income. My husband's name is M.Tahir Baig who has a decorative embroidery business. My husband has been teaching me the skill and art of embroidery and I am involved in the business. We both handle taking orders from the market. I have five sons. My elder son has a utensils selling business. The others are enrolled in a local school in the neighborhood. I have repaid my three loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now I am requesting a loan to buy materials (colored threads and beads) needed to expand our decorative embroidery business.

I am a group leader of a few more members of my locality. Najma baji is requesting a loan to buy beams for her shuttering business. Zaitoon baji is requesting a loan to buy material (lentils, cooking oil and spices) for her food business. Parveen baji is requesting a loan to buy a sewing machine to sew clothes. Maqbool baji is requesting a loan to buy a buffalo for her milk selling business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee each others loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible for the repayment of the entire loan.
