Yawo Amegbleto is 47 years old and a married father. Yawo lives and works in the village of Wome, approximately 130 kilometers from the capital of Togo, Lomé. He has operated a flour production business for many years to support his large family and grandchildren. The business has been very successful and he now has several employees. Yawo buys corn from nearby markets and uses the machine in the photo to grind it into flour which he then resells. This flour is always in demand to make a popular Togolese dish called La Pate.
With this loan from FECECAV, Yawo hopes to buy another grinder that would double his flour production. The price of corn has risen sharply in recent months, so he will also use some of this loan to support his corn purchases.
