Esteban

Esteban is 26 years old, single, lives with his parents, and works for them. Since he was a boy he has grown citrus and other fruit trees, but six years ago he began cutting down trees. He now has an established clientele for whom he provides wood to be made into fruit crates. He begins working at 4:00am, when he goes deep into the forest to look for mature trees. He pays S/20.00 (approximately US $6.50) for each tree and then sells the cut wood for S/36.00 (approximately US $11.50). It is a very profitable enterprise, and for most of the year he completely covers his expenses. During the rainy season, however, he cannot remove the trees from the forest. This is his fourth loan from Microfinanzas PRISMA. With this loan he will purchase a table saw which will greatly facilitate his work.

De niño se dedicaba a la siembra de cítricos y demás frutas, pero hace 6 años viene talando arbolés y tiene sus clientes ya conocidos a quienes provee de madera, para la elaboración de cajones de fruta. Su actividad inicia a las 4.00am se va a las profundidades de la selva a buscar los arbolés maduros, compra cada tallo a S/.20.00 y el los vende a S/ 36.00 ya trozados en trocos. Esta actividad le es muy rentable, todo este tiempo solventa así sus gastos, solo encuentra dificultades en tiempos de lluvia, ya que no puede sacar su carga. Este es su 4to préstamo con MFP. El haber accedido a este préstamo le permitirá comprar un motor de aserrar para facilitar su actividad.
