Naila baji is the wife of Maqbool Bashir. Mr. Bashir makes wooden decorations and sells them in several gift shops. He learned this art from his father, because this is their family business. Naila baji resides in Walton in Lahore, Pakistan, where she has been living for the past 15 years. She is the mother of four children: three sons and one daughter. All of her children are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood.

Naila baji has a business sewing clothes. She does this work because she wants to give her children a good education. Naila baji successfully repaid her previous four loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute in Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy wood, polishers, and tools to make more wooden decorations.

She is joined in her loan group by three more members. Rashidan baji and Parveen baji each want a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle, like a tuk-tuk). Bilquis Begum baji wants a loan to repair her auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle).

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

Note: "Baji," which means "older sister," is a term of respect for women in Pakistan.
