Mrs. Vanny Khiev, a group leader of four who all live in Kdol Village in Takeo Province, owns a small grocery store. Since it is doing well, she wants to expand the business and so is requesting a loan to buy more grocer goods for her inventory. Her husband, Mr. Saom Touch, is a policeman who makes a small salary that helps to support the family. Vanny is the 40-year-old mother of four children, three of whom are attending the local school while the youngest is a one-year-old at home.

All the members in this group loan have end-of-term loans and so are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because they are the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor, allowing them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% with Kiva.

Update on Loan to Vanny Khiev Group Entrepreneur: Vanny Khiev's Group Location: Kdol Village, Cambodia Hello Kiva Lenders, Earlier this month, an AMK client officer visited the Kdol village in Cambodia's Takeo Province to get an update on Mrs. Vanny Khiev, leader of the group loan. The group recently paid back their loan in full. Mrs. Vanny Khiev is a local grocer and her husband, Mr. Saom Touch is a police officer. Together, they make just enough income to support their four children. To continue to grow her grocery store, Mrs. Vanny Khiev requested a loan amount of 300,000 ($75 USD) from AMK to purchase additional merchandise. With the additional merchandise, she has had more customers and experienced increased profits. Additionally, her husband recently received a salary increase as a police officer. Hoping to continue increasing her family's income, Vanny Khiev expects to take out another AMK loan to buy additional merchandise. Mrs. Vanny Khiev also told us that the other group loan members had no problem paying back their portions of the loan. Lastly, Mrs. Vanny Khiev and her family want to thank the Kiva lenders for funding their loan through AMK!
