Akil repaid his loan early

Entrepreneur: Akil
Location: Bint Jbeil, Lebanon

We visited Akil at his car workshop where he repairs a variety of cars. Akil recently was able to repay his loan early thanks to good business. He used the loan he took to buy new tools for his workshop.

In the future, Akil hopes to be able to obtain new machines to service higher-end cars often used by tourists and expatriate Lebanese who return for the summer. Right now, Akil is taking a course in a nearby city where he is learning how to use some of the more sophisticated machines in use today which he hopes to buy in the coming months.

Akil works in a village near the southern town of Bint Jbeil. The town has a population of about 40,000 and is located in the Nabatiye governorate. Lebanon is divided into six governorates.
