“The most challenging part of being a wife and mother is: how are you going to raise all of your 5 children well with your husband earning only P 7,000.00 per month--not enough to cover your whole family's basic needs," says Mary Jeane Sollano, 33 years old, from Loon, Bohol who sincerely shares her experiences as a married person.

Mary Jeane went into a small sing-along business situated beside her nipa hut to increase her family's income and earn an additional P1, 000 per month. However, she cannot maximize her income due to a lack of facilities. Her chairs and tables are made of coconut lumber and slightly rotten, making the customers feel discomfort every time they visit the place.

She is requesting a loan of P 5,000.00 to purchase these items. In addition, she wants to invest in some other business such as a small grocery store, so 40% of the loan money will be used to purchase grocery items for her store. She hopes that if she manages to do all this, raising her children may not be as difficult as she previously said.

However, she has stopped operating because people no longer come to sing. Though her business wasn't a success, she maintains good repayment records of her loan. Now, she thinks of other possible income areas where she could start having business again. CEVI won't stop helping Mary Jeane to succeed in whatever business she will try venturing into. She still has access to credit assistance, trainings and insurance coverage CEVI gives to all their clients.
