Namuwanga Jane is a 36-year-old lady and the chairperson of Bisoboka Women’s Group in Lugazi. She is married with 6 children as she cares for 2 children belonging to her late brother. Jane has a drug shop/clinic that offers over-the-counter medicine as well as providing delivery services to her local community of Buwundo in Lugazi. In fact Jane is so common and well common in her community as ‘musawo’ meaning ‘doctor’ because of the life saving services she offers. In addition to the clinic, Jane keeps animals like cows, goats and pigs at her home and these help her so much in times of need like paying school fees and home upkeep. Jane has been able to buy plots of land for her family and she has started farming on them.
