Gloria Pinedo Hernandez

Gloria belongs to the communal bank “Flowers of New Eden” located in New Eden (Nuevo Edén), in the district of Yarinacocha, the province of Coronel Portillo, and the department of Ucayali. She is 53 years old and a mother of four, three of whom are adults and one who still depends on her. Gloria is married and her husband works repairing shoes – he is a cobbler. With the first loan that Gloria received from the Kiva micro-lending partner Manuela Ramos (of S/. 300 Nuevos Soles or approximately $100 US), she invested in the sale of groceries. She has been working with the communal bank for eight years.

Currently she runs a general store in her home with the help of her daughter. While Gloria goes to the market in the mornings, her daughter mans the shop.

With this loan of S/.3,000 ($975 US), which will be repaid in four months, Gloria will purchase a bag of rice, a bag of sugar, 4 cases of milk, 3 cases of soap, detergent, soft drinks, etc.

Gloria shares that she receives assistance from Manuela Ramos. She thanks God for life and for the health that she has been given.

La señora Gloria pertenece al Banco Comunal Las Flores de Nuevo Edén ubicado en el Jr. 2 de Mayo Mz. J Lt.7 AAHH. Nuevo Edén, distrito de Yarinacocha, provincia de Coronel Portillo, departamento de Ucayali. Tiene 53 años de edad, es madre de 4 hijos, 3 mayores de edad y uno que aún depende de ella, es casada y su esposo se dedica al arreglo de zapatos, es zapatero. Con el primer préstamo que recibió de Manuela Ramos de S/. 300 decide invertir en la venta de abarrotes. Tiene 8 años trabajando con el banco comunal.

En la actualidad cuenta con una bodega en casa y con el apoyo de su hija. Mientras Gloria se va al mercado por las mañanas su hija atiende su negocio.

Con este préstamo de S/. 3,000, el cual será pagado en 4 meses, comprará un saco de arroz, un saco de azúcar, 4 cajas de leche, 3 cajas de jabón, detergentes, gaseosas, etc.

Gloria manifiesta que recibe el apoyo de Manuela Ramos. Agradece a Dios por la vida y salud que le brinda.
