update from Nicaragua

Entrepreneur: Juan Leonardo Villalta
Location: Managua, Nicaragua

Juan Leonardo Villalta is a farmer who solicited a loan in order to purchase fertilizer and insecticides, in reality he only purchased fertilizer and applied them to his pineapples.

The crop improved agronomically on account of more developed leaves and crop placement. For the future, taking into account the situation of the country and the global economic crisis, he believes he will have to rely on credit for a while in order to maintain his crop.

He recommends microcredit because it is the fastest alternative for small agricultural enterprises, the payment deadline is at maturity and the interest rate is low.

At the time of the visit, the client was doing work for the floral induction to obtain plants, to obtain production and to work towards the repayment of his loan.
