Suraiya M.khalid Group

Suraiya baji is the wife of M.Khalid and has been living in the city of Riwind, Pakistan for the past 30 years. She is the mother of six children: five sons and one daughter who are all enrolled in a neighborhood school. Suraiya baji’s husband has been selling wood for the past 20 years. For the past 5 years, Suraiya baji has been working in the thread making business but she also does household work and takes care of her family.

Suraiya baji has successfully repaid her prior three loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). She is now applying for a loan to buy more wood to expand her husband’s wood selling business. She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Allah Rakhi baji is requesting a loan to buy thread for resale. Jamila baji is requesting a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Nasreen baji is requesting a loan to buy clothes for resale.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in their own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible for repayment.

About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
