Mrs. Naiseam Eng, who is 28 years old, lives in the village of Eysan Meanchey in Kampong Cham province. She and her husband, Mr. Chin Sim, pictured on the left of the photo, are both farmers; more specifically, they own a plot of land upon which they cultivate both rice and vegetables. In addition, they have two children, both of whom are too young to work or study.
On their plantation, they face an obstacle in that their rice field has infertile soil, which adversely affects their crops. In order to address this problem, Mrs. Naiseam Eng is seeking a loan to buy fertilizers in order to make her land more productive and to thereby grow more crops. In turn, she hopes to generate an increase in her family's income and to improve her famiy's living conditions with this loan.
