Inca Sevillanos Group

The "Inca Sevillanos" community bank was founded in September 2005 and is currently in its third loan cycle. It is made up of 12 members — eight women, four men — from Accha, Peru, about three hours from the city of Cusco. The female members are hard-working country women dedicate primarily to farming (cultivating corn, potatoes and beans) and raising livestock (cattle, sheep). The majority of them combine their agricultural activities with commerce, selling their products at the local market, in population centers and villages. The opportunity to access credit and savings is very valuable for them because it helps them generate income, which they put toward the family budget. They also value the training activities designed to improve familial relations with their husbands and children.

El banco comunal “INCA SEVILLANOS”, se fundo en septiembre del 2005, actualmente se encuentra en el III ciclo de la segunda etapa, esta conformada por 12 socias, 8 mujeres y 4 hombres del distrito de Accha.nEl distrito de Accha de la provincia de Paruro, Dpto de Cusco, se encuentra aproximadamente a 3 horas de la ciudad del Cusco.nLas socias son mujeres campesinas dedicadas a labores agrícolas principalmente (cultivos de maíz, papa y habas, crianza de vacunos y ovinos), la mayoría de las socias combinan las actividades agrícolas, con las comerciales (venta de productos agrícolas) realizando las transacciones en la feria local del pueblo, en los centros poblados y comunidades aledañas como comerciantes acopiadoras y vendedoras.nLa oportunidad de acceder a servicios de crédito y ahorro es muy valorada, porque les permite generar ingresos, con el que, contribuyen al presupuesto familiar. En la misma medida valoran las actividades de capacitación, que se orientan a mejorar las relaciones familiares, con esposos e hijos.n
