Update on Nazih

Entrepreneur: Nazih
Location: Saida - South, Lebanon

As a Kiva Fellow living in Lebanon, I had the opportunity to meet Nazih and discuss his most recent loan from the Microfinance Institution, Al Majmoua through Kiva.

Nazih's store is located in the heart of a bustling marketplace in the coastal city of Saida. Nazih is enthusiatic and welcoming as he greets clients and talks to them about his products. With his most recent loan, he purchased more socks (the good that he sells the most) as well as summer clothes. Even though business had slowed down immensely during the Lebanese elections , it has started to slowly pick-up and he anticipates a busy tourist season.

Nazih hopes to be able to sustain his business in order to finish educating his children. Two of his sons have already graduated from college (one has now become a pharmacist in Germany) and he now hopes that profits from the store will allow his other two sons to complete their bachelors degrees at the Lebanese International University.
