Hina Maqsood Ahmad's Group

Hina baji is the wife of Maqsood Ahmad and lives in a historical place named Yadgar of the city Lahore, Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house and has been living in it for the last five years. She has no children. Hina baji’s husband is involved in a CD and video cassette business. He has been in this business for the past six years. Hina baji herself is a housewife and prefers to do household work and take care of her family. She is applying for a loan to buy more CDs and video cassettes for her husband’s CD shop.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Nasreen baji wants a loan to buy cosmetics for her parlor. Abida baji wants a loan to buy thread for her embroidery business. Hamida baji wants a loan to buy plastic beads to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
