Musarat M.naeem's Group

Musarat baji is the wife of M.Naeem and lives in a historical place named Yadgar of the city Lahore, Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house and has been living in it for the last 10 years. She is the mother of five children: one son and four daughters. Her eldest daughter is in 3rd standard. Her son is in 2nd standard. The younger to him is in kindergarten. Her last two daughters are not of a school-going age.

Musarat baji’s husband is a driver and drives an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Musarat baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work and take care of her family. She successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to repair her husband’s auto-rickshaw.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Shamim baji wants a loan to expand her shampoo selling business. Tahira baji wants a loan to buy iron to resell. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy artificial flowers for her decoration business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
