Kaneez Fatima M. Bota's Group

Kaneez Fatima is the wife of M. Bota and lives in an historical place named Yadgar, Pakistan. She has been living in this place for the last 6 years. She is the mother of seven children: three sons and four daughters. Her elder son is a butcher by profession. The others are free and don’t do anything. Her daughters prefer to do household work. Kaneez Fatime Baji’s husband is a driver by profession and drives an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Kaneez Baji herself is a housewife and prefers to do household work and take care of her family. She is applying for a loan to buy livestock (goats) for her son’s business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Naseem Baji wants a loan to buy ingredients (cooking oil, lentils and spices) for her food business. Imtiaz Baji and Ruqaiya Baji each wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Farzana Baji wants a loan to buy meat to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
