Naseem Akhtar Allah Rakha's Group

Naseem Akhtar baji is the wife of Allah Rakha and lives in a historical place named Yadgar of the city Lahore, Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house and has been living in it for the last 40 years. Naseem baji is a mother of four sons. Her eldest son is involved in a movie-making business. He takes orders for different occasions (birthdays, weddings, etc). The next to him helps his elder brother in the business. The others are free and don’t do anything. Naseem baji’s husband has a food business. He sells food, particularly Punjabi food (Halwa poudi and Nan Chana), in his community. Naseem baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work and take care of her family. She is applying for a loan to buy another movie camera for her son’s business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Rakhshanda baji wants a loan to buy clothes and jewelry to resell. Nasreen baji wants a loan to buy fruit (dates) to resell. Lubna baji wants a loan to buy wood for her furniture business. Shazia baji wants a loan to buy iron to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
