Rasema Čaušević

Rasema was born in 1951 and lives in Tupković, a village close to Živinice in Bosnia. She is a widow and receives 300KM/month from her late-husband's retirement plan, which is the equivalent of roughly $200USD. She lives with her 19 year old daughter, who studies at a local university. The money from the retirement plan is barely enough to support their basic needs, let alone the cost of her daughter's education. For this reason, she sells vegetables from her garden and has used two loans to purchase cows (pictured), from which she sells milk and milk products.



Rasema is requesting a loan of 1,300KM from Women for Women International to purchase a third calf. She will raise the calf into adulthood and plans to sell its milk. She will also use the loan to help cover her daughter's school costs. Her wish is that her daughter finishes her education.
