Isma Galešić

Isma was born in 1963 and lives in Gračanica, a small village in Bosnia. She is married and lives with her two children, who are 15 and 23 years old. Her husband works in construction, but in order to support their family, Isma also does agricultural work from their home. She grows vegetables and raises two cows, selling milk and milk products to earn roughly 200KM/month. (The equivalent of $132 USD.)



Isma requests a loan of 1,000KM from Women for Women International to buy food for her cattle. This loan is vital for her, as rising food prices make it impossible for her to otherwise purchase the food to sustain the cows through the winter.



Isma is excited to report that one of her cows is pregnant. She plans to sell the newborn calf and hopes to make extra money from the additional milk produced by the mother.
