Bushra M.sarwar's Group

Bushra baji is the wife of M.Sarwar and lives in a small area named Riwind outside the city Kasur, Pakistan. It is half an hour in distance from city Kasur. Riwind is an area full of fruit and vegetable markets. Bushra baji owns a two roomed brick house and has been living in it for the last 8 years. She is the mother of four children: three sons and one daughter. All of her children are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Bushra baji's husband has worked in a factory for the last 6 years. Bushra baji herself has a milk selling business. She collects the milk from a milkshop and goes door-to-door to sell milk at houses, and collects profit on a monthly basis. She has been in this business for the last 5 years. She is applying for a loan to expand her milk business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Hajra baji wants a loan to buy an embroidery machine to make embroidered dresses. Samina baji and Noor Jehan baji each want a loan to buy a sewing machine to sew clothes. Khatoon baji wants a loan to buy thread to resell. Mubeen baji wants a loan to buy a buffalo for her milk business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
