"Mujeres De Fe" (Women of Faith) is a new group of 10 women who are all living in extreme poverty and don't have steady incomes. Maxima Mendez, the representative of this group, is the mother of 3 children, who are her main concern. She wants a better life for her children more than anything else in the world.

Maxima plans on taking her loan and starting a small business selling used clothing. She also loves to paint and wants to try and sell her paintings as well. Her goal is to have a thriving business, and she dreams of being able to travel. This group is all excited about this new challenge and opportunity! On behalf of Maxima, the group, and Esperanza International------- Thank you for your support!!!!

Maxima Mendez Journal

Entrepreneur: Mujeres De Fe Group
Location: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Maxima was able to successfully pay back her loans. While she had previously established her small clothing business, this loan helped her to expand it considerably. Maxima is married, but her husband is a construction worker and works away from home for extended periods of time. The business has become a consistent source of income for her family. Others in her community have noticed how hard she works to maintain her business, and appreciate its presence.
