Nighat M.sadiq's Group

Nighat baji is the daughter of M.Sadiq and lives in a small town named Bund Road in the city Lahore, Pakistan. She has been living in this town for the last 27 years. She got divorced four years ago. She is the mother of two sons. Her elder son has a CD shop. Her younger son is in kindergarten. Nighat baji herself has an oil (lubricants) selling business. She collects oil from different factories and sells the oil to different workshops. She has been in this business for the last 20 years. She has successfully repaid her three loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy more oil to resell.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Shakeela baji wants a loan to buy a molding machine. Parveen baji wants a loan to buy clothes to resell. Nasreen baji wants a loan to buy artificial jewelry to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
