Hau Nguyen Trong

Mr Hau used to roast pork for his wife's business in the market of Đong Ha commune. But their pigs and cattle contracted hoof and mouth disease, which ruined their business. They produce a small amount of rice -- 1-2 tons a year, which does not provide enough money for them or their children to be properly nourished. They have a 2-month old daughter and two children in school. Sometimes their other older children are able to send a little money home, but not on a regular basis. Their modest house is placed at a busy intersection surrounded by a high concentration of people. Mr. Hau is requesting a loan for $75.00 from Thien Chi Center and KIVA so that they can open a small bazaar in their home which will draw customers from the dense population in their area, and increase their income so they can properly nourish and care for their children.
