In El Alto city in the center of the Andes mountains, is the association “Florecer” (to blossom), which has 12 members anxious to success in their small businesses.

Most of the group members are married and indicate that they need to help their husbands with the household expenses. The average number of children per member is 4. Such is the case of Lupe, who sadly separated from her husband and had to take charge of her family alone so she needs more resources to support her family’s daily needs. The primary activity in the association is sales. They sell knitted wool sweaters, food, natural fruit juices, cosmetics, and other season items. They offer their products in the Tiahuanacu market in El Alto city. They need capital to increase their merchandise and in this way generate greater earning for their families.
