The committee is composed of 15 hard working women from the San Francisco region in the city of Caacupe. They all make corn and cheese breads (chipas) and sell their products door to door. They are currently going through their 8th cycle in the program Mujeres Emprendedoras (Enterprising Women) and because they are all from San Francisco in Caacupe they all share one common factor: they all make corn and cheese breads. Currently the group holds a line of credit averaging 926,000 gs. per member.

Chipas are a very traditional food that is very popular in our country, especially in the city of Caacupe. The city has even earn a reputation as a source of this popular product.

The loans that were obtained through Fundacion Paraguaya wer einvested in the purchase of starch, vegetable oil, cheese, and fire wood in great quantities. This permitted them to have good production of their corn and cheese breads, which in turn resulted in very good sales.

The president of the committee, on behalf of all of her colleague, wish to thank the Fundacion Paraguaya for permitting them to be part of this program that has a very noble mission: to support hard working people of small means and those that are marginalized by the economic system of the country.
