Teofila's Kiva loan

Entrepreneur: Teofila
Location: Location Undisclosed, Peru

Teofila used her Kiva loan of 2100 soles to buy more oil, rice and sugar for her dry goods store. Her sales have remained steady since she invested the money, she tells me.

Teofila has been a FINCA Peru client for the past six years, and says that her work with the institution has made a big impact on her life. She built her house and bought furniture with the help of loans from FINCA, and has been able to save up a little bit of money as well. Her goal for the future is to continue to work so that she can further improve her house, and leave her children with a good future. She has seven children, all of whom have graduated from college with professional degrees. All three of her daughters are now nurses, and Teofila is visibly proud. She has achieved what many FINCA clients dream of.

Teofila is pictured below (center) with Lola and Olga, two fellow members of the Las Golondrinas ("The Swallows") Village Bank.
