This is a communal bank that was formed by members that live in the district of Guayllabamba in the community of Huychu, which is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, 50 minutes away from the city of Cuzco

The clients are female villagers dedicated mainly to agricultural work (cultivating corn, potato and other vegetables and raising small farm animals). The majority of the clients combine their agricultural work with commercial businesses (selling agricultural products and small farm animals) selling their products in local markets in small cities and as traveling salespersons in surrounding cities.

One aspect of the program that the clients appreciate is that Arariwa gives them the possibility to access credit, teaches them a culture of savings, and gives them monthly trainings.

El banco comunal “VIRGENCITA DEL CARMEN DE HUYCHU”, se fundo en septiembre del 2002, actualmente se encuentra en el VI ciclo, esta conformada por 12 socias mujeres.
Es un banco comunal conformado por socias que viven en el distrito de Guayllabamba, comunidad de Huychu, ubicado en el Valle Sagrado de los Incas a 50 minutos de la ciudad del Cusco.

Las socias son mujeres campesinas dedicadas a labores agrícolas principalmente (cultivos de maíz, papa y hortalizas, crianza de animales menores), la mayoria de las socias combinan las actividades agrícolas, con las comerciales (venta de productos agrícolas y animales menores) realizando las transacciones en las ferias locales de los centros poblados y comunidades aledañas como vendedoras ambulantes.

A decir de las socias, un aspecto importante que resaltan del servicio que la UMF. Arariwa les brinda es haberles dado por primera vez la oportunidad de acceder a un crédito, les enseñan a tener cultura de ahorro y reciben capacitaciones mensualmente.
