Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Zahar by Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development, a partner of Save the Children in Lebanon. We are excited to watch this business grow. Over the next 12 months, Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development, a partner of Save the Children will be collecting repayments from this entrepreneur and posting progress updates on the Kiva website.

As a Kiva fellow living in Lebanon, I had the opportunity to meet with Zahar and discuss his most recent loan, disbursed by the microfinance institution Al Majmoua and supported by you, Kiva Lenders.

Zahar's hairdressing salon is located in a small village on Mount Lebanon. With his loan he bought an electric motor for his salon to ensure that power outages did not affect business. He also used the money to decorate the shop. Both these investments have allowed him to increase profits. Like many business owners in the area, events such as the clashes in May of last year between the different political parties supporters and this years elections halted his work however, now business has returned to normal. When asked about his dreams for the future, he said he wanted to grow his business and eventually build a house for himself and his family.
