Najma Umar Hayyat's Group

Najma baji is a wife of Umar Hayyat and lives in a city named Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore city is famous for its historical places. She owes a two-room brick house and has been living in it for the last 35 years. She completed fifth grade in school. She is the mother of four children: three sons and one daughter. Her husband makes and sells furniture. Her first two sons help in their father's furniture-making business. Her youngest son is in seventh grade. Her daughter is in fifth grade. Her husband has been in this business for the last 25 years. He has a good reputation in his community and within the city. Najma baji is a housewife who prefers to do household work and to take care of her family. She is applying for a loan to buy material (woods and nails) for her husband's furniture making business.

There are five people in Najma’s loan group: Fozia baji wants a loan to buy wood for her furniture-making business. Naseem baji wants a loan to buy cloth to resell. Shabana baji wants a loan to buy scrap (iron, steel) for her scrap business. Zaib-un-Nisa baji wants a loan to buy more garments to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
