Mambo (Greetings!) from sar es salaam, Tanzania and from SELFINA! Thank you for your loan through Kiva to Praxeda Mkandara, a SELFINA client and micro-entrepreneur. The purpose of this journal is to update you on Praxeda and the status of her business.

As you know, your generosity helped Praxeda obtain a loan of $875 in Oct 2008. She is running a food production sales business where she produces snacks and sells them and used the loan to purchase additional raw materials.

She works hard at her business and she is assisted by two employees. Since she took out the loan, her business has been doing well and Praxeda was able to pay bills, buy food for her family and meet other expenses.

In the future, she is planning to expand her business, on the personal front, her family is doing well. As you may remember, she is married and has three children. SELFINA aims to continue to assist Praxeda and other women like her, and empower them towards financial security and increased confidence through microloans.
