Seng Navy, 31, works selling traditional Khmer medicine in her village. People living in the province mostly believe in traditional medicine more than in than commercial drugs. On average, she makes around US$3 each day. Her husband, Srey Limheng, 37, has a business catching fish from the lake and then sells his catch to the market to earn approximately US$4 per day. This couple together has six children, two of whom are students. She told to a loan officer that every month she spends around US$70 on food, US$20 on transportation and US$30 on her children's education.
She is asking for a loan of US$200 to purchase a motor for her husband's wooden boat.
