For the past eight years, Juliet has been selling charcoal. She goes to a village to purchase sacks of charcoal and brings them back to sell in the city; sometimes she even sells the sacks directly from her home. The greatest challenges Juliet faces are customers who don't pay and flooding during the rainy season.
Juliet is requesting a loan to further invest in her business, and she is the leader of a group of four other women who join her in the loan request. Since she began working with MCDT (Micro Credit Development Trust), Juliet has been able to manage her bills and pay the school fees for her children. She hopes to one day be able to purchase a plot of land and build her own house.
