Naseem Sajjad's Group

Naseem baji is the wife of Mr.Sajjad and the mother of three children: two sons and one daughter. She lives in a small city named Chichawatni, Pakistan. She owns a two-room brick house and has been living in it for the last 20 years. Her elder son is in kindergarten. Her husband is a wheat seller and has been in this profession for the last 10 years. Naseem baji successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute in Pakistan). She used that loan for her husband's wheat business. Now she is applying for a loan again for her husband's wheat business.

She is joined in her loan group by several more members. Mukhtaran baji wants a loan to buy material (cloth, thread) for her decorative embroidery business. Munawar baji wants a loan to buy eatable things (chips) to re-sell. Irshad baji and Manzooran baji each want a loan to buy fruit to re-sell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
