Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Mohamad by Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development, a partner of Save the Children in Lebanon. We are excited to watch this business grow. Over the next 10 months, Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development, a partner of Save the Children will be collecting repayments from this entrepreneur and posting progress updates on the Kiva website.

As a Kiva Fellow living in Lebanon I was able to meet Mohamad at his barber-shop in Hirmil (in the northern part of the Bekaa Valley) and discuss his latest loan disbursed by Al Majmoua and funded by you, Kiva Lenders.

Mohamad said that his business was doing well (and it was teeming with clients that Thursday afternoon). Mohamad has repaid his loan but he has yet to use the $1,500 - he is still waiting for the distributor to receive the special chairs he ordered for his barber-shop. He anticipates their arrival soon.

Mohamad hopes to generate enough income from the barber-shop so that he can eventually open a women's hair salon next door. See below for a short video of Mohammad at work.

Note: Because of the delay between the date when repayments are made to Al Majmoua and the date when these payments are reported and sent to Kiva, Mohamad appears to have repaid just 80% of his loan, when in fact the loan has now been fully repaid. Payments may take up to 8 weeks to be reported and deposited into lenders' accounts--please be patient!
