Cecilia González Salazar is in the process of applying for home improvement assistance through a Mexican government program called Conavi. Conavi assists very low-income families by providing a small housing improvement subsidy that supplements a housing loan. This Kiva loan can thus have a big impact, since it is supplemented by additional funds that this low-income family will use to improve their housing circumstances.

Cecilia González Salazar is a single woman who very much wishes to complete her construction project. She has been unable to finish it yet, and started with a loan that her own employer provided to her. She has turned to our institution which runs a program (CONAVI), which is new and helpful to both the individual and the society as a whole. She wants to increase the height of the wall of her house, so she has more privacy. She would also like to add a floor to the patio behind the home. The amount she is looking to borrow is $950 USD.

Cecilia works in a furniture store and comments that she will repay the loan with the income from this job.
