Most of the group members have small commercial operations and sell their wares in the Villa Verde Market. Most sell food (fruit, vegetables, potatoes, prepared meals, bread, and sweets), though several sell clothing for adults and children, and one sells handicrafts. All of the group members have at least two years of experience with their respective businesses. Most plan to use their Kiva loans to expand their inventory.

27 de Agosto's success has been thanks to the collaboration of all 14 of the group members, who are responsible people who know how to work in a team. The group knows what the group guarantee is, and never misses a payment at any of its meetings.
