Tep Tov is living in Phnom Penh, near to the railways, with her daughter and grandson. She is earning some money in sewing clothes at home on her own sewing machine. Her profit is around 12,000 Riel ($3) daily with one machine but she has another source of income. She has rooms for rent in a nearby building. She rent it to the factory workers and the beer girls working in the city. There are five rooms, each of them is rented for $15 monthly. This breeds an additional $75 to the family income.
Tep Tov requested $700 to invest in both of her businesses. The first $300 will be spent for purchasing a new sewing machine and to have the other one repaired. This new machine will be used by her daughter.
Tep Tov will use the remaining $400 to have her house with rooms for rent repaired. She perceives it has an important investment for her future.
She is very excited about receiving her loan. “When CREDIT will give out my loan, our income will rise”, she said. With her future loan she would like to develop her sewing business, buy more machines and hire employees.
