Wishing a long life to his lenders!

Entrepreneur: Sabit Tagiyev
Location: Baku, City, Azerbaijan

The $625 loan Sabit received in August has had a big impact on his business.

He used the money to buy spare parts for the engine of his taxi, which was broken. Now, he can take passengers for long rides, something that was impossible for him to do before. As a result, he can earn as much as 50-60 Azeri Manat per day ($61-73 U.S. dollars) with his Soviet-style Lada 1600 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lada).

Sabit hopes to continue improving his business. One day he would like to marry, and he would use the money from his business to support his family. Now he lives in a converted dormitory in Baku, the capital, where the government has resettled some of the more than 1 million Internally Displaced Persons from the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"I wish a long life to the people who lent me this loan," he said in Azeri. "I am very thankful to them because now I don't have to worry about what to do tomorrow, about my problems."
