Grocery Store Group

Nasreen baji is the wife of M. Sharif and lives a city named Pakpattan, Pakistan. Pakpattan city is famous for its historical and pious places. Nasreen baji has been living in this city for the last 15 years. She is the mother of six children: one son and five daughters. Her son is a daily wage labor. All of her daughters are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Nasreen baji's husband runs a grocery shop, with experience of 10 years. Nasreen baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work. She is applying for a loan to buy more groceries to expand her husband's grocery shop.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Sabra baji wants a loan to buy more chickens to resell. Sakina baji and Shamim baji each want a loan to buy a sewing machine. Ansar baji wants a loan to buy goats to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
